I can make a thin based pizza. I can tell if the yeast is activated. RECIPEFOR EACH GROUP
250g white bread flour or Tipo '00' flour 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt COMBINE THE FOLLOWING INGREDIENTS BETWEEN TWO GROUPS THEN HALF! 1 x 7 g dried yeast sachets 2 tsp caster sugar 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil 325 ml lukewarm water Preheat the oven to 240 C. Sieve the flour/s and salt on to a clean bowl and make a well in the middle. In a jug, mix the yeast, sugar and olive oil into the water and leave for a few minutes until bubbles form. Once bubbles form, half the mixture between two groups. Make sure it is precise!! Pour into the well. Using a fork, bring the flour in gradually from the sides and swirl it into the liquid. Keep mixing, drawing larger amounts of flour in, and when it all starts to come together, tip out onto a clean, flour dusted surface and work the rest of the flour in with your clean, flour-dusted hands. Knead until you have a smooth, springy dough. Place the ball of dough in a large flour-dusted bowl and flour the top of it. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and place in a warm spot, for about an hour until the dough has doubled in size. (Close to the oven or on top of the stove would be a good place) Meanwhile, collect and prepare one vegetable from each colour. 1. Thinly slice all vegetables. 2. If you have pumpkin, carrot or sweet potato it will need roasting first until tender. 3. Pick leaves from herbs and discard stalks. TIP: The thicker or larger something is cut the longer it will take to cook. With pizzas there are two options, cut ingredients thin or small so they cook quickly OR pre cook them first! Now remove the dough to a flour-dusted surface and knead it around a bit to push the air out with your hands – this is called knocking back the dough. Roll out the dough into one large pizza. |

INGREDIENTS 1/2 tin diced tomatoes 1/2 onion, diced 1 clove garlic ,crushed 1 tbsp tomato paste 1 sprig basil, leaves torn 1 tsp olive oil Salt and Pepper METHOD Saute onion and garlic in olive oil over medium heat in a small pot until soft. Add tomatoes and tomato paste and simmer for 10 minutes. Add basil leaves and continue simmering for a further 10 minutes. |
