Poor choice in diet and lifestyle factors can lead to a range of potentially fatal diseases.
This week, your aim is to research one of the following diseases and present your findings to the class (next week).
1. Obesity
2. Bowel cancer
3. Osteoporosis
4. Heart Disease
5. Dental caries
You need to include the following information when completing the task and use diagrams where appropriate.
1. A detailed description or definition of the disease.
2. Statistics...
- How many people suffer the disease in Australia/the World.
- What age groups does it affect the most.
- Does it affect ethnic groups differently.
- Is it more prevalent in particular countries?
- Include graphs and tables highlighting important/alarming statistics
3. Risk factors for the disease.
4. Prevention strategies.
5. An explanation of the side effects or symptoms, long term and short term, of the disease.
6. A detailed suggested daily meal planner for someone suffering the disease. (3 meals and 2 snacks) with an explanation suggesting why this meal planner is suitable for someone with the disease.
