We are learning to better understand the two types of diabetes.
SUCCESS CRITERIA
I can explain the difference between type 1 and 2 diabetes.
I can suggest a diet for people with type 2 diabetes.

Using the Diabetes Australia website, complete the following activities.
1. Write a definition of type 1 and type 2 diabetes with at least 3 facts about each type.
2. Complete a Venn diagram in your book showing similarities and differences between the two types.
3. Write down 5 prevention strategies for type 2 diabetes.
4. Write down 5 risk factors for type 2 diabetes
5. Draw two columns in your book with heading food to eat and food to avoid. Write 5 foods under each for someone suffering diabetes.
6.Write down some statistics that reflect the serious nature of the disease.
7. Look at the recipes page and pick a breakfast, lunch and dinner. Write down three things that you notice about the different recipes.
